ECO-engine’s building modeling concept
ECO-engine uses an intelligent tree structure to model the building.
The building is divided into several building blocks (commonly the floor levels) and each building block is subdivided into structures and spaces.
The structures in a building block represent the main construction elements of the building block. Those structures are the walls, the floors, the roofs, the carriers, the doors, the glazing and other surfaces.
Spaces can be one or several energy zones (commonly rooms). Each energy zone contains envelopes - views elements that shape the room. For example a rectangle room contains one floor view, one roof view, and four wall views. Each of the view has a main construction which can contain openings and/or other sub surfaces such as curries (beams/columns) etc.
Structures and spaces are connected interactively via an intelligent algorithm that calculates the surfaces of the structures in each space. This allows the dynamic creation of constructions in the spaces with the properties of the structures. ECO-Engine intelligent concept minimizes the design time since there is no need to draw the constructions or the openings in each space separately.
Note that the energy performance calculations uses only the spaces level data.
